Aromatherapy is the systematic use of concentrated essential plant oils which possess distinctive therapeutic properties. Stress-related and chronic conditions can be relieved by the use of the oils, which work both physiologically and psychologically, although Aromatherapy massage can also be viewed as a preventative measure to maintain good health.

The therapy is designed to treat the whole person and not just the symptom or disease by assisting the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself. The combination of aromas, massage, aromatic baths and other treatments all work together to achieve this balance, co-operating with nature, not working against it.

Treatment involves consultation about the patient's health and lifestyle, after which oils are chosen and blended to achieve the most beneficial effect for the patient. The blend is then applied by means of massage, varying in length according to the patient's requirements.
